The Highway Capacity Manual (HCM 2000) is a definitive guide for computing the capacity and quality of service of various highway facilities, including freeways, rural highways, signalized and unsignalized intersections. It also covers the effects of transit, pedestrians, and bicycles on the performance of these systems.
The current edition of the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM 2000) prepared by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Committee on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service is available on a multimedia CD-ROM in addition to the printed manuals. Two different editions in Metric and US Customary Units are available (www.trb.org).
