SIDRA SOLUTIONS will run the following SIDRA INTERSECTION workshop:
Tuesday, 6 June 2017
|8:30am - 5:00pm|
The BEGINNER Workshop is offered for people with no knowledge of SIDRA INTERSECTION. It will focus on the use of the basic aspects of the SIDRA INTERSECTION software including general aspects of the user interface, input data entry and a reasonable level of output familiarity.
The workshop combines hands-on sessions and instructions to teach participants how to use SIDRA INTERSECTION.
SIDRA INTERSECTION Version 7 will be used in this workshop. The workshop is set with examples based on the SIDRA Standard Left-Hand software setup with metric units.
Read our About Workshops page for more general information.
- Familiarity with traffic engineering methods and terminology, and basic knowledge of intersection and network evaluation concepts.
- Basic skills in MS Windows use.
A good understanding of traffic operations at intersections is essential for effective use of traffic models for intersection and network design and evaluation purposes. Attending the MODEL FUNDAMENTALS Workshop is recommended for SIDRA INTERSECTION users with all levels of experience.
Upon completion of the BEGINNER Workshop, participants will:
- gain a basic knowledge of the latest SIDRA INTERSECTION version;
- be able to prepare and enter the input data required by SIDRA INTERSECTION;
- gain a basic familiarity with SIDRA INTERSECTION output;
- gain a knowledge of the use of various SIDRA INTERSECTION facilities at a basic level, including movement classes, design life analysis, sensitivity analysis, signal timing analysis and network modelling
This one-day BEGINNER Workshop provides an interactive learning opportunity with hands-on computer experience, working together with instructors through many examples.
It is important to learn basic aspects of the SIDRA INTERSECTION user interface and gain familiarity with software input, output and some essential functions before attending the INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED level training workshops. Attending the MODEL FUNDAMENTALS Workshop prior to the BEGINNER Workshop is strongly recommended for developing a good understanding of the use of SIDRA INTERSECTION for traffic modelling.
The BEGINNER Workshop will cover all types of intersections including traffic signals (40 %), roundabouts (30 %), and sign-controlled (stop and give-way) intersections (15 %) and an introduction to network analysis (15%) at a beginner level. Percentages indicate the approximate proportion of time intended to be allocated to each subject area.
Traffic Engineers and Planners involved in the analysis of intersections and networks for design, operations, planning and traffic impact assessment purposes.
SIDRA INTERSECTION training workshops provide an excellent opportunity for networking by meeting your colleagues who are working in areas related to your work.
