Licences Overview

We offer 3 licence types:

SINGLE (Per Computer) licence FLOATING (Network) licence ENTERPRISE (UNLIMITED) licence

FLOATING Licence is available for SIDRA INTERSECTION only.  SINGLE and ENTERPRISE licences are available for SIDRA INTERSECTION, SIDRA TRIP and INPUT COMPARISON.

Country where licence is used: Licences can be used in any site (office) of the Licensee's organisation in the country for which the licence is issued. In the case of multi-national organisations, purchase of additional licences or a special agreement is required for other countries where the Licensee's organisation has offices. This applies to all licence types.

All licence products are treated individually from a pricing and licence management perspective. Each SINGLE computer licence, FLOATING licence pack and ENTERPRISE licence has an individual price, Licence ID and COVER expiry date associated with it.

SIDRA SOLUTIONS software licences are non-transferable, they cannot be passed on, rented or leased, or sold to another organisation.

The licences are also categorised as PROFESSIONAL and EDUCATIONAL licences. The EDUCATIONAL licence applies to recognised educational institutions. It does not allow the use of SIDRA SOLUTIONS software in any way for commercial gain or profit. This restriction applies to any research under contract for commercial gain, including such research undertaken by educational institutions.

There is no restriction in terms of software capabilities EDUCATIONAL licence. A separate new PROFESSIONAL Licence must be purchased for use of the software for any professional (non-educational) purposes. Upgrade from EDUCATIONAL licence to PROFESSIONAL Licence is not available.

An essential part of the licence management for SIDRA SOLUTIONS software products is the version status. Three version status levels which will affect the licence purchase and COVER renewal processes are designated as:

• Current Version (e.g. INTERSECTION Version 5.1),
• Previous Version (e.g. INTERSECTION Version 5.0), and
• Old Version (e.g. INTERSECTION Version 4.0 and older).

Version status is an important part of licence management. As soon as a new major version of the software is released, it becomes the current version with the following consequences:

• COVER renewal is available for the Current Version only (therefore "valid COVER" is associated with the Current Version only),
• for Previous Version licences, purchase of an upgrade licence and COVER is needed, and
• for Old Version licences, purchase of a new licence and COVER is needed.

The licences with valid COVER at the time of the release of a new major version (which becomes the Current Version) will be replaced with a free upgrade licence to the Current Version.
