About this role

This is a full-time position in a globally renowned software development company. We are looking for a skilled graduate level individual who will be involved in developing software products for use in road traffic modelling for design, operation and management purposes. The successful candidate will work in a team maintaining and enhancing these products using the latest Microsoft technologies, and will be involved in all aspects of software programming.

Responsibilities

  • Develop our software to our specifications and in accordance with our systems.
  • Develop and maintain high quality code within project deadlines.
  • Contribute to regular team meetings.
  • Assist with software and hardware issues related to our computer systems.
  • Adhere to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Contribute towards continual improvement of organisational products and processes.
  • Other duties as directed by the Technical Team Leader.

Key knowledge

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent, or higher qualification, in an IT-related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of software coding and development protocols in a business environment.
  • Fluent written and verbal English language skills
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret specifications and requirements documents.
  • Knowledge and experience in any of the areas of object-oriented design and programming in C# under the Microsoft .NET framework, WPF, graphics programming, database programming, FORTRAN, C++, Python and Javascript are a major plus.

  • Excellent, clear and concise communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well within a project team and communicate clearly and professionally with other team members and others in the office.
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel are essential.
  • Analytical mind in order to identify problems and find solutions.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational abilities, time management and planning skills.
  • Highly self-motivated individuals proactively managing their tasks.
